OzHarvest is launching a Food Rescue Digital Platform to combat the growing devastation food wastage has on Australians every year. The mobile technology will provide a ‘virtual van’ to regional and remote communities that will connect charities with local food donors. OzHarvest projects that, in its first year, the Food Rescue Digital Platform will provide over 5.6 million meals to regional and remote Australians in need, divert over 1.8 million kilograms of food from landfill, and prevent more than 3.7 million kilograms of greenhouse gas emissions.
