One in five young people and more than one in three African-American and Hispanic youth drop out of high school. City Year addresses this by providing intensive mentoring and tutoring in math and literacy during the school day for students in East San Jose. After school, City Year is accelerating learning for students who need it most by providing additional hours of programming. With our help, City Year will support 8,000 additional students, helping them stay in school and prepare for college.
