As part of the student R&D pilot program sTOUdio Turistica, the University of Primorska, Faculty Tourism Studies - Turistica is teaching digital and entrepreneurial skills to tourism providers in rural areas of Slovenia. One of the co-supervised student projects of sTOUdio Turistica is LocalsFromZero, an online marketplace for tourism experiences that is gaining popularity worldwide. The team has already conducted 30 workshops, begun developing an online community, and plans to use cutting-edge technology - such as 360 cameras, VR glasses, and touchscreen tourism information boards - to showcase the providers' work to the global marketplace.
