Metropolitan Community College

Develop a unique self-hosted computer training system to prepare Omaha Correctional Center residents for successful re-entry with stackable, nationally recognized information technology credentials–creating a tech worker pipeline that benefits both the community and the re-entry population

Metropolitan Community College’s training in Nebraska prisons is currently paper-based due to a lack of internet access. Their 180 Re-entry Assistance Program creates a mechanism for providing work-ready IT credit courses to incarcerated individuals; equipping a highly skilled workforce with nationally recognized credentials; empowering re-entry participants upon release; filling the local and regional tech workforce gap; and reducing recidivism rates.
