Through their LGBTI+ Safe and Support Spaces project, Belong to Youth Services combines online and offline activites to create multilateral, holistic support structures for LGBTI+ youth across Ireland. This involves digital awareness raising campaigns that direct attention not just to anti-LGBTI+ hate speech and crime, but also encourages LGBTI+ youth to engage in help-seeking behaviour if they experience such hostility. This is bolstered by offline activities, including face-to-face training for school teachers, to equip them with tools and resources to broach and tackle anti-LGBTI+ sentiment in their classrooms and the provision of specialist frontline youth work to support victims of anti-LGBTI+ hate.
