Communities Inc. (CIC) wants to change social norms when it comes to responding to expressions of hate. CIC seeks to do so through building out its network of community ambassadors and empowering different sectors (including the police and private sector) to act when they witness incidences of hate speech, hate crime or broader discrimination. CIC ultimately aims to make "interventions the norm" by building the capacities and awareness of how bystanders can act when they witness hate speech and/or crime.
