The Fundación de Ayuda contra la Drogadicción proposes a combination of research on the state of hate speech in Spain with the development of an app and offline educational campaigning and events. FAD will conduct research on existing trends in hate speech across Spain, effectively mapping how hate speech manifests itself across the country. This research will inform the development of a mobile app that disseminates the learnings from the research phase and supports young people as they identify and report hateful content online. The app will incorporate pre and post-evaluation mechanisms to understand how well its resources are serving their function and to allow for changes to be made accordingly. The team will supplement this app with the preparation of an educational guide in Spanish and English, so that teachers can use the app and distribute awareness of it in classrooms.
