Quirky 30 provides free training in technology skills that are most in demand in the marketplace today (coding, design, cloud, entrepreneurship). They enable underprivileged and unemployed youth between ages 16-35 to learn these technology skills to a level of employability, in order to place them into jobs or help them start their own businesses. At the same time, Quirky 30's coding programme tackles a worldwide shortage of developers, with 23,000 unfilled software development jobs in the Western Cape alone. With many free online training platforms the skill has never been easier to learn but is not yet accessible to the very people who can benefit most from the life-changing and aspirational job prospects it offers.
