Saide's African Storybook project will enable educators to work with young children to create and publish open digital picture storybooks, using an offline App and Progressive Web Application. Children, especially from marginalised groups, will be able to see their lives and their languages reflected, thus increasing their sense of worth and agency. The project as a whole will address the shortage of easily accessible local language storybooks written with children to encourage them to learn to read and love to read.
