In France, an estimated 1.4 million young people aged 15-29 are not in education, employment, or training, with more than double the national average concentrated in underprivileged neighbourhoods. Meanwhile, 1.1 million new jobs will need to be created to achieve the country’s desired ecological transition, but there are many barriers to employment in the space.
This consortium – led by Makesense and including Article 1, Bondy Blog, Banlieues Climat, and AFEV – is leveraging AI and mobile technologies to offer curated training and recruitment opportunities and programmes for young people to pursue careers in the green economy.
With the assistance of Google.org Fellows, the consortium will develop a Large Language Model (LLM)-based chatbot to empower diverse candidates to recognize and effectively communicate their unique skill sets, draft CVs and cover letters accordingly, and optimise for career matchmaking.
By 2030, the project aims to match 15 million job seekers with green recruiters annually, scaling from France across Europe, Latin America, and Southeast Asia, with 30% of users from underprivileged communities.
