Improving the digital literacy and cyber security knowledge of older generations via a generative AI assistant designed to detect and counter everyday cyber risks

While only 8% of Europeans aged 65-74 have above-basic digital skills, they share 7x more disinformation than other age groups and represent a high proportion of scam victims.

Biblioteche Senza Frontiere aims to close the gap in cyber security and debunking tools aimed at older generations by developing a cyber threat warning system. This takes the form of a mobile application that features a nudge-based generative AI assistant, specifically focused on strengthening the ability of those with limited digital literacy skills to detect and counter cyber risks.

Ultimately, the project aims to support a more inclusive digital society, enabling senior citizens to confidently and safely navigate and access services online.
