Cyber security is a systemic problem, requiring costly and specialised expertise that many of Italy’s 3.6 million small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) cannot afford or have equal access to.
Together, Politecnico di Milano and the Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma are developing an AI-driven web app that identifies cyber vulnerabilities, provides feedback on gaps, and recommends real-time mitigation strategies to empower SMEs to defend themselves against ongoing digital threats.
Their aim is to democratise access to cyber security intelligence – making it easily available to communities and groups traditionally underserved, such as southern regions of Italy. The project hopes to support over 300,000 SMEs, contributing to a 30% reduction in cyber attacks and a 20% increase in employee awareness of such threats.
