Traditional languages in Australia are in decline: more than 17% of traditional Australian languages recorded in 2005 were no longer spoken by 2014. The Living First Language Project uses a unique software system to empower community members to pass on their traditional languages to others.
Over three years, ALNF will make the platform available to speaker groups across Australia, potentially reaching over 80,000 speakers and 270,000 individuals for whom language is a key part of their heritage.
