The Global Methane Hub, Clean Air Task Force, and RMI are working to reduce methane emissions from landfills through the Waste Methane Assessment Platform (Waste MAP), by using satellite monitoring to track, measure and report the location of methane emissions and leaks. The platform will help cut down emissions from the waste sector, which is one of the highest emitting sectors and reduce public health emergencies created by methane such as landfill fires, explosions, and unbreathable air.
