Young Social Innovators will empower some of Ireland’s most disadvantaged youth, allowing them to experiment and discover their potential to address issues around them using robotics and STEM.

1,000 + Dublin City teenagers will be inspired to discover how STEM and robotics can be used as tools to bring about positive social change. A series of new cutting edge workshops will engage teenagers to collaborate in project-based learning modules – ‘Robot4Good and HackIt4Good’. These interactive modules will be delivered from Ireland’s first Social Innovation Learning Lab, which has been newly developed by Young Social Innovators.

Teens, particularly girls, from disadvantaged areas, will get priority. YSI knows that to increase engagement of girls in technology and science, the focus needs to be on social purpose and solving social need. These modules will do just that, and will have a special focus on design thinking and problem solving on issues concerning human need. YSI has already identified industry partners to work on the design and co-creation of these modules, with plans to roll them out to other regions in Ireland in the coming years.
