GiveDirectly is leading a movement for a radically simpler way to improve development outcomes: by giving money directly to those who need it most. For Google’s Impact Challenge award, GiveDirectly will deliver large unconditional cash grants to young people living in Nairobi’s urban informal settlements to support entrepreneurship (expanding a pilot project with FSD Africa). This project makes big bets on hundreds of young hustlas and potential hustlas - nudging them towards business development, providing them choice and giving them dignity by trusting in their ability to make good decisions about their lives.
